Martin Luther Christian School – an educational ministry of Martin Luther Chapel at 4100 Terrance Ave. in Pennsauken – has been in existence for more than half a century. It currently has a Kindergarten through 6th grade elementary program as well as Day Care and Pre-school programs. Its average enrollment is about 165. The church has aspirations of someday adding 7th and 8th grades. Says Lisa Steele of her new undertaking to lead the school, “God has truly called me to this place of ministry. I am blessed to be a small participant in this awesome ministry.”
Don’t Miss the Quiet Little SchoolMartin Luther Christian School is a quiet member of the Pennsauken community, so you might not notice it. You may have missed it driving up and down Route 130, or given it only a passing glance. But it’s worth a second look! It is a school with a difference!

The combination Daycare and preschool is coupled with a Kindergarten through 6th grade elementary school program. Kids have been quietly learning in a loving, Christ-centered atmosphere for over 50 years. But in recent years, the quiet little school has come to be noticed by an increasing number of parents and children. Since 2001, Martin Luther Christian School (MLCS) has more than doubled in enrollment.
School Preparing Students for Life The increase has occurred almost exclusively through word-of-mouth “advertising.” Parents found a school where a principal, Lisa Steele, and teachers are committed to teaching something more than reading and math. They also want to share God’s love with the children in their care. MLCS is a school where color or background or culture doesn’t matter. Its diverse student body is reflective of our community. Children participate in an excellent curriculum and benefit from professional teaching in language arts, math, social studies, and science. MLCS has a mobile technology lab with laptop computers for use in individual classes. Music and drama are also big parts of an MLCS education. But students also attend weekly chapels led by Pastor Larry Vogel and daily class time studying the Word of God and learning the goodness of a life filled with clear values, prayer, meaning and purpose.
The DifferenceMartin Luther Christian School is a place where our Savior is glorified and where children are treated as a gift of our heavenly Father! It is our responsibility to do our very best with each child, and to create a school, parent, and child team.
