Worship and Music -
The center of Christian life is
gathering to hear God's Word and give Him praise and
thanksgiving. There are two services each Sunday
with the Lord's Supper. Blessed with many talented
musicians, our services regularly feature everything
from soloists and choirs (of all ages) to a girl's
chorus, to various instrumentalists.
Martin Luther
Christian School -
Our church operates Martin Luther
Christian School, a Kindergarten through Grade 6
elementary school with diverse population.
Children experience the finest in Christian education in
a loving and caring environment. Our current
enrollment is just over 110 students. Recent
growth has enabled us to go from combined to individual
classes in most grades. With new classrooms under
construction, we plan to have individual classes on all
levels for the 2004-2005 school year.
Preschool / Daycare -
Many children need a home away from home
because of parental work commitments. We offer
such nurture and Christian childcare with an academic
preschool for three and four year old children.
Open year round, our hours are from 7:00 A.M. to 6:00
P.M., Monday through Friday.
GLEAM -
An acronym for "God's Love,
English, Art, and Manners", GLEAM is the Martin Luther
Chapel program which almost ten years ago began to
provide aid to immigrant children in adjusting to life
in America. We're looking for more volunteers and
speakers to help us out!
Prayer Life -
Each Wednesday, from 7:15 to 8:00 A.M.,
there is an opportunity to gather for prayer with a
small group at Martin Luther Chapel. In addition,
we have a Prayer Chain and our midweek service provides
opportunity for special prayers and sharing.
Sports -
There are weekly opportunities for all
ages to be involved in various sporting activities at
Martin Luther Chapel: bowling, softball, basketball, and
volleyball.
Sunday School -
Each Sunday, between our services, there
are opportunities for Christian growth and study of
God's Word. Children of all ages and adults have
classes throughout the year with education and musical
enrichment.
Fellowship
-
We have youth groups for kids from grade
school through high school. Adults enjoy the
fellowship between Sunday services as well as various
informal get-togethers - dinners, trips, sporting
events, etc. The Dorcas Guild is our women's
group, affiliated with the Lutheran Women's Missionary
League. Kids have yearly opportunities to
participate in week-long summer camps and
Vacation Bible School.
Youth
Program -
The Junior Angels and the Senior Angels
form a Christian community for youth. The Senior
Angels attend the LCMS National Youth Conference every
three years. The youth are also actively involved
in congregational and community service projects.
Pennsauken Senior Housing -
In a cooperative venture between Martin
Luther Chapel and the Lutheran Social Ministries of New
Jersey (LSMNJ), a 70-unit apartment complex for
low-income senior citizens was built, located on Route
130 between Garfield and Baker Aves.
